Helping the environment

We try to help the environment by removing your old appliance. We recondition as many appliances as possible, the remainder are recycled. There is an optional extra to have your packaging removed for £3.99.


Deposits are non-refundable


We require payment in full at the time of purchase. Any outstanding balances must be paid prior to delivery. Account customers have 30 days to pay from the date of the order.

Ordered Appliances

In the event that you purchase an appliance that needs to be ordered directly via the manufacturer, a 20% re-stocking fee may apply if you choose to cancel your order. This does not affect your statutory rights.

Lifetime Labour Free

Our lifetime labour policy excludes American style refrigeration, cooker hoods, all gas appliances, vacuum cleaners, microwaves, and any small kitchen appliances. Click here for further information.


We charge a standard delivery rate of £19.95, please ensure you contact your local branch if you would like this service.

Please expect a 7-10 working day period for delivery of your appliance.


Please be aware that “in stock” does not mean immediately available to collect. Our main warehouse is in Andover and customer collections can take up to 72 hours to be delivered to your preferred store ready for you to collect. However if you wish to check stock then please call your nearest wash house so we can advise you.


All damages must be reported within 14 days of receipt otherwise we cannot exchange or refund any products

Installation notes for customers


It is the customers responsibility to have suitable points for us to connect to. While we will advise as best as we can it is the customers responsibility to get any work that may need to be done for it to become a point to point connection. In the event of a customer wanting to cancel an order based on not having suitable connections a 20% restocking charge will be enforced for the product and the delivery charge will not be refunded.

Gas appliances

We will fit to manufacturer and Gas Safe regulations. If these are not correct when we come to fit your appliance we may not be able to complete the job, or we may make a charge for any extra work that is required.

Gas Safety Certificate

Due to gas safety regulations, you must have a gas safety certificate as proof of your appliance being fitting by a qualified Gas Safe fitter.

There is a cost of £20 to order this certificate and it is required by law.

Combustible materials above the naked flame

There must be nothing combustible below 750mm above the flame (gas hobs) and nothing combustible be low 750mm above high-level grill style cookers.


For any gas appliance fitted within the kitchen there has to be suitable ventilation (ie open window to outside air). This ventilation cannot lead to a conservatory.

Electric cookers

The most common problem we encounter when fitting electric cookers is that the existing cooker cable is not the correct size. We can sometimes change this quite easily for a small charge. If we cannot change the cable we may not be able to fit your appliance, and it may be necessary for you to contact an electrician to do the work.

Washing machines/dishwashers

We will connect to a suitable point (ie existing washing machine taps and waste pipes). If these are not suitable and we have to change taps, extended hoses, or alter plumbing in any way, an extra charge may apply. We may have to re-book to complete extra plumbing or electrical work after quotation has been accepted.


When purchasing refrigeration appliances from The Wash House, please note that there is a £20 charge for the removal of the old refrigeration appliance.


Free installation is offered for a point to point connection including tuning your tv. It does not include mounting TV’s on the wall, however we can do this for an extra charge if you require, please call us for more information on this. While our best efforts will be to install your TV in the case of extra parts needed there may be additional charges for non-point to point connections. We don’t do any work on aerials.

Lino/cushion flooring

We will take the utmost care when fitting your appliance but we cannot accept responsibility for any damage that is caused due to the nature and condition of the floor covering. If you have new flooring please put down some type of protective covering.


Please assist us by making access as clear as possible. We may need to use a sack truck in your property so please protect your flooring. We will take great care but appliances can be very heavy.


In the event of a repair failing or in the event the customer chooses to buy a new machine from the wash house they can have the £23.95 call out off their purchase of a new machine.
